HUSTLERS GET A DOSE OF THE TROTTERS

A depleted Hustlers failed to do the double over Globetrotters as the opposition failed to find as many gaps and ran out easy winners.

In a close encounter, first leg held up well.  Paradoxically both Rob and John’s high scores were beaten by their opposite numbers and it was Malc’s lower score that did the damage.  The result was a tie after first leg.

Highlight of the second leg was Pete the Greek’s introduction to the team as it means that Pistol now has to be Pete H.  Purely coincidentally it was Hustlers’ lowest leg and, against Globetrotters highest, it was never going to end well.  All three players lost to their opponents by some margin, the outcome being a shortfall of 21 pins.

Third leg continued Hustlers’ slow but steady decline and, although all three players scored a couple of 7s (scraping the barrel for some positives), this was not enough to prevent a further 6 pins added to the deficit.

With a margin of 27 to make up, last leg were left largely to play for their averages.  However, they did start to reduce the deficit and, with Neil scoring Hustlers’ only 40 of the night and against Globetrotters’ lowest leg, Hustlers managed to reduce the deficit by 12 and the team lost by a slightly more respectable 15 pins.
