Rampant Hustlers make it six wins out of eight as they exact revenge for a narrow defeat at home earlier in the season.
On a night when you played if you could stand upright, first leg was whoever turned up, and a very good job they made of it. Pistol excelled after beginning with a 4 and ended up top score with 46; his 16 pin advantage over his opponent helping Hustlers to a first leg lead of 8.
Second leg was, er, second leg and the less said about how they managed to drop 15 pins the better. As a result Hustlers went into third leg some 7 pins down.
It was now up to third leg to pull some pins back and all three did reasonably well. Rich was the star of the show, finishing with 42 and pulling back 15 pins on his own. This gave the advantage back to the Hustlers with a 2 pin lead going into fourth leg.
Led ably by Clive, who finished with 42, last leg managed to keep largely in step with Mira but arrived at the last hand some 5 pins down. At this point Mira lost their nerve, with their first player scoring a beaver and their second player a 4. This gave Hustlers a score of 15 to beat on their last hand, a task which they managed somewhat unconvincingly to win by 3 pins.
