HUSTLERS JET-BLAST THEIR WAY TO MID-TABLE

Hustlers continued their record-breaking run-in to the end of the season with a strong showing against bottom of the table Jets.  Hustlers are now only one win off having as many wins as they have lost.

First leg started off the game with the customary ho-hum display but no-one died and Hustlers finished the leg with their noses just in front.

The next three legs showed remarkably similar scores.  Second leg was dominated by a Lewis whirlwind, after a slowish start finishing with a 12 spare and two 9s to total 49 pins for the night.  With his partners holding the tail, Hustlers gained a further 6 pins to give third leg an 8 pin lead.

But it was third leg that inflicted the most damage on Jets with Steve’s 13 spare giving him 43 and a 14 pin advantage over his opponent.  Both his co-pilots chipped in with useful gains and third leg added a further 20 pin profit over to last leg.

Fourth leg fortunately provided no dramas and, with Gary and Neil both reaching 40 and Pete providing a useful 6 pin lead on his opponent, Hustlers gained a further 9 pins and ran out winners by 37 pins.
