HUSTLERS SUFFOLKATED AS ALLEY GETS FINAL REVENGE

After enduring 14 seasons of complaints, the alley got the last laugh as Hustlers’ fourth leg was put to the sword by Norwood Arms in the final game of an era.

Unusually, and hopefully for the last time, first leg was led by Captain Neil who disgraced himself by losing 6 pins to his opponent and leading the team to a 7 pin deficit.

The best that second leg could do was hold station with Norwood Arms, all three Hustlers more or less matching their opponents.

Third leg kept the game close.  Rich was at sixes and sevens but also provided what limited entertainment there was with both a 12 spare and a beaver.  After the tumbleweed, third leg ended with a gain of a single pin, leaving fourth leg with just 6 pins to make up.

Alas, Gary was the only player to justify his last leg place with a fine 43.  Steve’s 27 remarkably matched his opponent but Rob was up against an opposition 48 and the 16 pin deficit between these two anchormen was pretty much the loss on last leg, Hustlers going down by 21 pins.

Onwards and hopefully upwards to the London Inn !
