Led by stand-in skipper Rob, Hustlers stormed their way to their biggest win of the season against Britannia at the London Inn
First leg did the damage, led by Lloyd whose spare gave him 44 pins and a gain of 20 over his opponent. Only Andy (matched as usual against the opposition’s top scorer) lost a few pins but this was the Hustlers’ best leg of the evening and resulted in a 17 pin advantage at the end.
Second leg continued the good work, with all three players pulling pins on their opposite numbers, and at the halfway period Hustlers had added a further 15 pins to lead the match by 32.
It was now up to the third leg to maintain this fine form and, with Dave pulling 12 pins on his opponent, Hustlers increased their lead by another 14 pins.
Now with a 46 pin cushion it would have been difficult for Hustlers to lose the game and indeed it was Ant who made the running, his 40 enabling him to pull 15 pins on his opponent. This proved to be the difference on the leg, with Hustlers running out easy winners by 61 pins.
