Arborial enthusiasts may dislike the incorrect play on words in the title (Fir Trees are coniferous), but Hustlers chalked up their first win since October.No-one could call the first leg consistent with Chris (42) and Lloyd (45 including a spare, and top score to boot) each pulling 9 upon their opponents. Unlucky Dave, however, with two beavers, lost 23 pins to his man. The result was that Hustlers went into the second leg 5 pins in arrears.
Second leg was more even, but although the scores were in the lower thirties, Hustlers still managed to pull four pins back with the result that third leg had but a single pin to make up.
Third leg performed slightly better but their total was still the same as the first. The result was almost the same too, and fourth leg found themselves back in deficit to the tune of 5 pins.
Unfortunately for the Fir Trees, their last leg failed to perform and, with Neil leading the way with 41, Hustlers managed to best the opposition by 16 pins, running out the winners by 11 pins.
