HUSTLERS OUT OF SPORTS AGAINST WHADDON

It was another bad night at the London Inn as Whaddon Sports’ three top players scored in the mid 40s which no Hustler could match. On a glass half full basis, however, the 30 pin loss seemed easier to take than the narrow defeats of the past few games !

First leg set a middling target for Whaddon Sports but the opposition proved well up to the task and all three Hustlers lost to their opponents, the result being a 12 pin deficit at the end of the leg.

Second leg however were well up for it and, with Swayner hitting 40 and besting his man by 13 pins, Hustlers managed to turn the first leg deficit around into a lead of 3 pins.

Unfortunately third leg were unable to hold on to the lead.  Against two strong Whaddon players, both Pete K and Dave lost in double figures to their opponents and only a 25 by the third Whaddon player prevented a total rout.  At the end of the leg Hustlers were 18 pins down.

Alas, this daunting total proved too much for last leg and, although Wallsey made a valiant 40, Captain For The Night Clive suffered a 12 pin reversal against his opponent and the leg shipped a further 12 pins to leave Whaddon Sports running out the winners by 30 pins.
