Hustlers shut doors on Outsiders

Back from our break, Hustlers went into this match looking to use home advantage to continue winning ways against Outsiders.

Not for the first time, first leg set a fine example, with Pete getting our first 9 and first 40, shortly followed by Mart claiming the first spare and our second 40, to set up a 9-pin lead.  Still not used to such a position, second leg set about restoring something more familiar , with Dave setting a new season low as we dropped 15 pins to leave the Outsiders leading by 6 pins at the midpoint.
That upset third leg, who set about changing things once more, with 40s from Steve and substitute Swayner, Neil helping claw the game back and hand a 10-pin lead over to the anchors to defend.  Finishing on a 9, birthday boy Gary just missed his 40, while Cap’n Clive recovered from a poor start to knock off a 9 and a spare to help him to his early top-scoring birthday present and ensure our best win of the season.

Can we keep this form going as we head to the Adam & Eve to take on Tivoli Boys?
