STRONG HOME PERFORMANCE LEAVES HUSTLERS RULING THE GLOBE

Hustlers sent the opposition trotting back to the Old Pats Club with a fine last leg performance assisted by a few good scores earlier in the game.

First leg had a quality feel to it with Rob volunteering to step in for some tardy latecomers.  Unfortunately he took one for the team as it was the other two who put in the heavy duty scoring with Neil getting 44 and Lloyd 42.  However, all three contributed pins against their opponents and Hustlers went into second leg 21 pins ahead.

Every Hustlers game has a weak link and this week it was second leg.  Luckily Pete’s 41 helped to stem the losses but a tentative return by Clive and an unfortunate night by Brian meant that Hustlers shipped 15 pins to finish the leg just 6 ahead.

So it was up to third leg but they too failed to deliver the goods, losing a further 9 pins to leave last leg with a small but achievable deficit of 3 pins to make up.

With something to play for, last leg put in a storming display with a consistent 41 by Gary balanced by an inconsistent 44 by Lewis (a 15 spare saving his night) and an almost 40 by Ant ensuring a leg of 124 which was easily enough to see off Globetrotters’ final three.
