Well, it’s nearly time to decide on th edestination for the Hustlers’ 2011 trip. Our match v Cowley CC will be decision day. Who will we inflict ourselves on next year?
3 coastal destinations are vying for our business in 2011 – who will draw the short straw? Make your mind up by the next match:
Dobbin wants to take us to Porthcawl (but didn’t realise that it’s in Wales)
Olive is offering up Bournemouth (can we decide if it’s in Hampshire or Dorsset?)
Salty has selected Portsmouth (a sea dog’s true home from home).
We should know the result after our next game. Tune in for the decision.
Fawlty Towers have stated that dinner begins at 6:30 pm and finishes at 7:30 pm.
John Cleese has told Clive that if you turn up much after 7:00 pm he cannot guarantee that you will be served, as Polly and Manuel will be starting to pack up and go home.
With only a few weeks to go, it seems timely to publish full details of the annual Hustlers weekend.

Individuals are asked to arrange their own transport there and back. Those leaving in the morning are invited to meet en route at the Globe Inn, Sampford Peverell, Devon from around 1200 hours. Turn off the M5 at Junction 27, drive past Tiverton Parkway railway station into the main village street and the pub is on the right. Parking is behind the pub. For satnavs, the postcode is EX16 7BJ.
Those leaving in the afternoon (expected to be Gary/Helen; Rob/Rag; Jim/Jan) will be informed in due course of the time the hotel will be serving the evening meal.
After a massive price hike, Bournemouth’s been binned.
The original plan has now had to be thrown away after the 1st choice hotel suddenly changed from being affordable to being over the top.
In a close re-vote, the destination has now been changed to Torquay on the English Riviera.
At the trip meeting on 21 September, the Hustlers agreed that the 2010 Spring Trip would be at Bournemouth.
The recommended accommodation is the De Vere Royal Bath, which is a large 4-star hotel located in the centre of Bournemouth. Group rate for bed and full English breakfast for the two nights 26 and 27 February is £69 per person if sharing, and £99 for no-mates in a single room.
Transport is still to be resolved; the proposed plan is to share cars but Neil will investigate the use of a self-drive minibus.

Following the practice of previous years there will be a trip meeting immediately after the home game on 21 September.
Team members are invited to submit proposals for next year’s trip. In order to avoid an interminable series of follow-up meetings, please note that only fully baked proposals which are accompanied by a provisional idea of costs will be considered.
