CINDY / KATE ON TOP AT ALBION HOUSE

Hustlers tried hard in a match that could have gone either way but, on an alley with big gaps, Syndicate’s home advantage told in the end.

First leg started very well, led by John who started with a spare, then spoiled it with a 3 but still ended up with 44.  All three players pulled pins on their opponents and Hustlers finished the leg – which turned out to be the evening’s highest – some 14 pins in front.

Second leg contrived to demolish most of this lead and, with all three losing to their opponents, set the lowest leg of the night.  The outcome was a loss of 11 pins so third leg were left with just 3 pins to play with.

Third leg saw an impressive 41 by Brian who scored consistently throughout, while Ant gave good support with a spare which alas went to his head as he followed it with a singleton.  Chatz struggled, held back by a beaver in mid-leg, so a further 12 pins were added to the deficit.

Last leg were given 9 pins to make up.  Stevie Walls played well for his 41 and, supported by Pete and Neil, managed to keep in touch.  However, it was too little and by the end of the leg they had made up just one pin, losing the match by 8 pins.
