Fishers Catch Hustlers Hook, Line and Sinker

A dull evening against a characterless team resulted in a defeat for the Hustlers – but at least the beer was good!

On the first leg, Rob’s legacy to the team before leaving to watch Arsenal on the telly was a decent 41 and, with a 40 from Malc – his first ever – left the Hustlers with a first leg lead of 8.

This however was largely dissipated on second leg despite the Hyland clan both hitting the 40 mark and underscored by three successive nines by Chris, including one spare which guaranteed the company of a meerkat in his bed for at least the next week.

The narrow deficit of 1 was not enhanced by third leg, none of whom managed to raise a clap from their team members, and last leg was left with a deficit of 20 pins to make up. Despite the best efforts of Clive (44) and Neil (46 including a spare), Hustlers went down by 14 pins.

Next week we start our Hospital Cup campaign against the Seagulls at the United Services Club.
