HUSTLERS ALL FISHED OUT AT THE SUFFOLK

Although never far behind, and even taking the lead towards the end of the game, Hustlers were sunk by a Kingfishers last hand of 29.

First leg found it hard going, Marty finishing with a beaver, and it was only an equally poor Kingfishers first leg that saved us from trailing by more than 2 pins.

Second leg started brightly but although Anthony struggled to maintain his sparkling form, Lloyd struck an excellent 42, pulling 13 pins on his opponent.  Highlight of the leg was JimBob’s 9 spare, his third ball somehow managing to strike his foot as he bowled, but although he lost 17 pins to his opponent who managed two successful spares in his 54, it was generally agreed that JimBob won top marks for artistic performance.

With another 6 shipped by the second leg, third leg began the chase but each player was beaten by his opponent and a further 9 pins were added to the deficit, leaving last leg 17 pins to make up.

To their credit, last leg made a go of it against an admittedly spluttering Kingfishers opposition, and by the penultimate hand were 2 up on the game.  Rob was outstanding as anchorman with a fine 44; however our last hand of 19 proved no match for Kingfishers last hand of 29 resulting in a defeat for Hustlers by 8 pins.
