Hustlers were kicked off the park and were lucky to come only second in a not very close encounter against the Kraftsmen at the Robins Club.
First leg was the only one to show a profit with Marty’s new fast bowling style earning him a 40, and Chatz also managed to gain a few pins over his opponent. However, a good 44 by John’s opposite number put a damper on Hustlers’ first leg, which ended up with a single pin advantage.
Second leg started well but got worse. Neil ended up with an uncharacteristic 28 which included The Visitation of the Beaver, and only Jim-Bob staved off a bigger rout with an excellent 40.
Third leg managed to do even worse, with all three once again losing to their opponents and failing even to reach 100 pins, admittedly against an opposition that scored over 120.
So last leg’s target was to make up a shortfall of 20 pins and, although Anthony managed to hold his man with a creditable 41 which included two 9s, Gary and Rob’s opponents both scored 48s and a last leg deficit of 27 pins caused another heavy Hustlers defeat.
