In a match where both teams scored over 500, Hustlers’ winning streak came to an end at the hands of the Strollers at the Adam & Eve.
Highlight of the first leg was a 13 spare from John who ended with 51. Despite Lloyd providing good back-up with 42, the leg was up against an even better Strollers’ trio and Hustlers trailed by 5 pins at the end.
Second leg was remarkably similar, being dominated by a 15 spare from Brian who finished with 47, backed up by Pete’s 44. Nevertheless, Strollers kept their noses in front and Hustlers shipped a further 3 pins.
To be fair, third leg were up against Strollers’ highest leg. Although Ant scored 40 and Dave’s 43 was his first ever, Andy was once again pitted against Strollers’ top scorer and the leg lost 15 pins.
With a 23 pin advantage Strollers eased up slightly on last leg but, against Hustlers’ best leg of 132 in which all three scored in the 40s, Strollers lost a mere 3 pins which left them with a winning margin of 20.
