HUSTLERS OUTCLASS OUTCASTS IN A BISHOPS CLEEVE BEAVERFEST

Barry was a busy beaver last night as he flitted between three potential hosts before deciding to spend the night with Malc, but a happy outcome was achieved with a narrow win over Outcasts.

First leg was up and down like a pair of trousers in a Whitehall farce.  Both Neil and Andy traded sevens for beavers but Lloyd steadied the ship with a much more consistent 42.  The effect of the beavers however was to leave Hustlers 7 down at the close.

Second leg struggled with Malc and Clive striving manfully to get to grips with the long alley.  Lewis had more success and finished with a fine 40 and, against an opposition that found it equally hard going, Hustlers ended the leg just one further pin short.

The heroes of the night were on the third  leg.  Both Pete and Ant (who scored a fine spare) managed to finish well up in the 40s and, with Gary playing a holding role in the middle, wiped out the 8 pin deficit and gave last leg an 11 pin lead.

All the slightly makeshift last leg had to do was hold on to the lead.  They did ship some pins but the Outcasts were unable to catch up fast enough and the deficit of 7 on last leg enabled Hustlers to run out the winners by just 4 pins.
