Hustlers have to play another round in the Charities Cup after beating Prestbury Rovers from Division 6 at the Somerset Arms.
All three first leg players pulled pins on their opponents but the star of the leg was John, whose fine 40 ensured a lead for Hustlers of 14 pins at the end.
Second leg needed this cushion as all three players lost marginally to their opponents. Chatz suffered a beaver but recovered strongly, and at the end of the leg Prestbury Rovers only took 4 pins off Hustlers’ lead.
Both teams continued to be very evenly matched and on third leg only Dave, with a 5 pin advantage over his opponent, was the difference between the two teams.
So fourth leg started with a lead of 15 pins. Player of the match was Rob, whose consistent scoring on last leg netted him 46 pins and ensured that the leg ended the game with a further 6 pin advantage, a 21 pin win for the Hustlers, and a place in the next round.
