Looking to extend our 2015 unbeaten run, Hustlers travelled to the Suffolk, hoping to avoid the double from Ullenwood .
A steady start saw Pete craft our first 40 of the night as we finished first leg all square. Second leg struggled a little, but a second Hyland 40 (helped by a last gasp spare) ensured that we ended the first half leading by 2 pins.
Third leg weren’t happy with that and Steve (with our second spare) and top scorer Rich added another coupkle of 40s to stretch the lead out to 14 pins. AS rounded off his night by taking the raffle – surely an omen as it came down to the anchors. Bottom scorer Gary narrowly avoided opening with a beaver , while Cap’n Clive and Neil added further 40s. With it all coming down to the last leg, the tension was high. But we fell just 2 pins short.
It’s a chance next week to preserve our 2015 home as we face Merryfellow B, hoping to avoid the double.
