Hustlers suffered a reverse at Fortress Suffolk, well beaten by Three Bees who become the first side to do the double over Division Three’s most popular team.The evening began with a good indicator of how the game would pan out with Hustlers up against what turned out to be Three Bees highest leg. With no-one scoring less than 30, first leg still contrived to drop 21 pins against their opponents.
Second leg managed to slow down the deficit with both Dave and JimBob matching their opponents but a 42 on the Three Bees side ensured that Hustlers shipped a further 10 pins at the end of the leg.
The bright spot of the evening was third leg, albeit assisted by an opponent’s 26 which helped Steve, top scoring with 44 including a spare, to gain 18 pins on his man. This reduced the deficit facing last leg to a just manageable 16 pins.
Alas, last leg failed to perform and with Lewis the only player to beat his opponent, Hustlers lost a further 7 and were sunk by 23 pins.
