Hustlers’ winning run of 5 games came to an abrupt end at Albion House when Whaddon Sports became the first team this season to do the double over them.
The game got off to an unremarkable start with the evening’s lowest score of 100, placing Hustlers on a deficit of 9 pins going into second leg.
Things looked to improve after that, with second leg ahead for most of the encounter, but Hustlers fell at the final hand and ended the leg a further 6 pins down.
With a shortfall of 15 pins, third leg pulled their socks up and, led by Chatz with 40, managed to recover those 6 pins and ended the leg back at 9 down overall.
So last leg were in with a fighting chance but, although Neil finished with 40, the others fell short and a further 8 pin disadvantage left Whaddon Sports running away with a 17 pin victory.
